Christmas Tradition: Cabbage pies!

Christmas Eve is coming and probably most of you are familiar with the 12-dishes-dinner tradition. So you better get started on rehearsing your incredible Christmas Eve menu... Good that you have us, and we will provide you with some help on preparing easy, but delicioussss Christmassy dishes.
Let's start with the all-time favorite small Cabbage pies.

All you need is:

  • 1/2 spoon cumin
  • 1/2 spoon coriander
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • frozen dough
  • 300 g pickled cabbages
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 egg yolk
  • full grain cumin
Course of action (does not get simplier!):

1. Chop the carrot and onion.

2. Add a spoon of olive oil to the pan, heat it. Add cumin and coriander, fry it a bit. Add chopped carrot and onion. Fry it until soft. Then add pickled cabbages, salt and pepper. Stir it and cook it until the cabbage becomes dry.

3. Once the filling is done, let's move to the pastry. Spread out the frozen dough, cut it into squares. Allocate the filling and then close the dough forming the cakes of any form that you like! Then coat it with egg yolk, on top sprinkle the full grain cumin.

4. Bake it in the oven, at 200C for ~20 mins. Enjoy!
